We continue in Paul’s letter to the community in Corinth, diving into the details of the conflicts, disagreements and struggles that divided their community. Their ancient struggle strangely reflects some aspects of our modern day predicament as we too bear witness to conflicts within the church that can decenter our focus on Christ. This text raises difficult questions about how the church finds and maintains “unity” without sacrificing justice and a firm commitment to beliefs or practices that seem essential to life grounded in the Gospel. Join us as we explore these issues and ponder that challenging, essential, elusive notion…Christian Unity.
