At Pacific Beach UMC, we understand that part of our ministry is not just to our members but also to the neighborhood in which we worship. Pacific Beach is a vibrant community, and we celebrate the opportunity to gather in such a beautiful place. It is right and good that we take time to share our time and presence in our neighborhood. It’s important to be good neighbors! Please consider participating in one or both of these community outreach events.
On Sunday, June 3rd, after our second Worship service, we’ll gather for a short presentation and light refreshments in the Social Hall. Afterwards, we’ll take time to go out into our neighborhood equipped with gloves and trash bags and make our neighborhood look a little cleaner. If you have gardening gloves to bring, please do so. Don’t forget to wear comfortable clothes and a PB UMC t-shirt if you have one, and consider a hat and sunscreen!
On Saturday, June 30th, we will join in a similar event in partnership with PB Street Guardians and several other area congregations. We will meet at the PB Library (4275 Cass St.) at 9:00 am for a short orientation, and then will be grouped and sent into the community. Again, wear comfortable clothes, a PB UMC t-shirt, and protection from the sun!
