This year’s Advent and Christmas series, “Not a Silent Night,” takes a look at the familiar story leading to the birth of Jesus through the eyes of his young mother. It is not an exaggeration to imagine that Mary knew Jesus better than anyone else. Scripturally, there is no one else who was with Jesus when he was born and when he died. No one. What must she have seen? What must she have felt? Don’t miss our Advent and Christmas celebrations to explore this unique perspective of the one we call Messiah!

Advent Kick-Off
Pacific Beach UMC will host our fourth annual Advent Kickoff on Sunday, December 2, 2018, beginning at 4pm. We will have special Advent craft activities for participants to take home and enjoy. If you would prefer to simply connect with our faith community over a meal, join in at 5pm. Bring your favorite potluck dish, or show off your best thanksgiving leftover creation: a side dish or a dessert; and we will provide some beverages. After dinner, we will have a program and gather outside around the tree in the courtyard to light it!
“Two from Galilee”
PB UMC has a long tradition of presenting musical and dramatic arts to celebrate the Christmas Season. This year’s presentation has a history here at PB UMC as a musical that has been performed here ten and twenty years ago. As a favorite, we’re happy to bring “Two from Galilee” back for another round of musical frivolity!
Christmas Caroling
What’s the Christmas Season without Caroling? Get ready to indulge in your Fa La La La Lah’s on December 16th beginning at 5pm. Meet at the church for a song-filled walk around our community, and then plan to caravan to the Parsonage for refreshment and Christmas fun!
Project Grace Christmas Dinner
Our annual Christmas Dinner – a special offering of our regular SD Project Grace – will be held on December 19th. Chef Ben will prepare a traditional Ham dinner with all of the fixings, and after our guests dine, they will be invited to choose from some practical gifts offered by our youth group. If you would like to help sponsor this dinner, you can sign up with Chef Ben to donate one or more hams, or make a donation to help cover the cost of the dinner. This is a great chance for you and your family to help bring Christmas to our neighbors in need, by volunteering to help serve the meal or simply sitting and chatting with our guests.
Christmas Eve Worship
We will present three services on Christmas Eve (December 24th), at 5pm, 7pm, and 11pm. Christmas Eve is a time for the entire family to worship together, so while a family-friendly service will be presented at 5pm, plan on the entire family being together for every service.
Come celebrate with a faith community committed to showing Christ-like love!
