Same Mind & Same Purpose

In the text for this Sunday, Paul very clearly addresses the reality of division in the church. As members and participants in a United Methodist Church, we may find this particularly poignant today. Yet, Paul reminds his readers that we belong to Christ.

You Are Not Lacking

This week’s text is the introduction to Paul’s first letter to the church in Corinth. Paul identifies himself and expresses gratitude. In doing so, Paul reminds his audience of our unity in Christ Jesus.

Reflection

As a community of faith, I believe we are on this journey together. In covenanting together, we experience a collective community who supports and cares for one another in vital and life-giving ways.

Well Pleased

As we begin a new year and new century, we explore the beginning of Jesus’ ministry. As we consider Matthew’s text in Sunday’s worship, note the opening of the heavens, the presence of the Spirit of God, and the voice from the heavens.

The Journey to Joy

We place a great deal of value on traditions. Most of us likely experienced traditions both silly and serious from our families of origin. In our life of faith, we highly value traditions as well. These traditions are important because they help to root us in an identity.
