Advent begins today and consists of the four weeks leading up to Christmas. It’s a season that helps us to prepare our hearts, minds and spirits for the coming of Christ at Christmas. This year our Advent series is called “Words for the Beginning” and it reminds us of some basic necessities for spiritual thriving in times of transition. Advent is a beginning…the beginning of the new Christian year. But it’s also a time when we can “begin again” as we grow more and more into the people God has created us to be. This Sunday we’ll explore what it means for young Mary to have been called “blessed” and what “blessedness” means in and for our lives.
Scripture passages:Isaiah 43:1-7 and Luke 1:26-38
